Ever since Beyoncé mentioned drinking watermelon in "Drunk in Love," betches everywhere have been downing cold-pressed watermelon beverages faster than they can think of watermelon puns for their Instagram captions.
Beyoncé is officially investing in WTRMLN WTR, the green and pink bottle next to the coconut water and the other sports drinks. The startup company signed with Whole Foods in 2013 and became a best-seller after Beyoncé’s song blew up last summer.
With Ivy Park on the market, Beyoncé is super into health and fitness these days, so it comes as no surprise that she invested in such a healthy drink. WTRMLN WTR is made from only watermelon flesh, the watermelon rind, and organic lemon. The drink is super hydrating and is packed with natural electrolytes, so you can bring a couple extras for your fav Soul Cycle instructors next class. Or, if you're a normal person, stock up for your next hangover.
Beyoncé explained in a statement that her stake in WTRMLN is all about wellness and natural hydration. Bey said, “This is more than an investment in a brand, it’s an investment in female leaders, fitness, American farmers, and the health of people and our planet.”
Bey is all about empowerment and we’ll drink anything she puts her wallet behind. We were just getting used to lemonade, but if Beyoncé drinks watermelon, we’ll drink watermelon.
