Chicken Mango Burgers

I can’t wait to see the comments section for this one, since I’m sure everyone and their mom wants to weigh in on making perfect burgers.

Luckily, these are not your run-of-the-mill burgers but rather, a more refined take on the beef patties we’ve come to know. When you combine ground chicken with fruit and herbs and spices, you can get a legit amazing product that’ll look super classy next to those fug brown burgers and potato salad that Patty the stay-at-home mom and blogger bought.


  • 1 lb lean ground chicken
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup fresh mango, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/3 cup red onion, chopped
  • 1 fresh jalapeno, minced – seeds and stems removed
  • 1 tbsp jerk seasoning (I used Jamaican Jerk, obv)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp fresh lime zest

Place the chicken in a big ass bowl. In a smaller bowl, combine all the rest of the ingredients. When they’re thoroughly mixed together, add the concoction to the chicken but don’t fucking overmix it or the meat will be tough and gross.

Spray a large skillet with nonstick spray and heat the pan to medium high. Add patties and cook about 3-5 minutes per side or until cooked through. Don’t overcrowd the pan. Once all the patties are cooked, you’re like, done. Serve these on wheat buns with things like tomatillo salsa or mango chutney or queso fresco. The possibilities are endless. Come onnnn summer.
