Everyone and their basic brother is losing their mind that the Pumpkin Spice Latte is back. I’ve had at least five since they came out last week and I haven’t regretted a sip of it. But this week, Starbucks is debuting the rest of their fall flaves, and the newest of the bunch, Chile Mocha, is supposed to be fucking amazing. So amazing that people are saying it might be the new favorite. Is the Chile Mocha challenging the PSL to a walk-off?
So what makes this new seasonal bev so special that it may overtake the queen bee? Well, spicy stuff is hot rn (no pun intended) so Starbucks was feeling the heat (okay, that one was on purpose) to come up with some sort of spicy drink. The chile mocha blends cayenne, ancho chile, milk and chocolate with espresso, then is topped with whipped cream and an extra dash of hotness. Damn that sounds good. But is it really better than a PSL? Sorry, but I’m just not buying it.
It’s kinda like when Rihanna came on the scene and people were like “omg is she gonna be bigger than Beyoncé?” No, bitch. She’s not. But she’s still pretty damn incredible. That’s kinda how I feel about this whole PSL-Chile Mocha comparison. No one can beat a real queen. But it doesn’t mean I’m not going to go try one first thing tomorrow morning.
