Over the years, Diddy has gone through several stage names, and every time he changes it, it seems pretty pointless. Well last week, Diddy went on Khloe Kardashian’s new show Kocktails With Khloe (yes this is still happening) and cleared up where the name inspiration came from. He said it all started back in the 90s, when Diddy wanted to use a David Bowie sample in one of his songs. The two met each other, and Diddy says he was super inspired by Bowie, and that he made him realize that he could have a different stage persona.
This is a really nice story, especially because David Bowie just died a few weeks ago, but we also have a feeling that at some point he realized that “Puff Daddy” just sounded fucking dumb. Either way, this is the kind of shit you miss when you don’t watch Kocktails With Khloe.
