We’ve seen everything from culottes to cutoffs this summer, and you know what else we’ve seen? Girlfriend jorts: ugly denim cut-off at the knee. G-Jorts aren't just your normal heinous Bermuda shorts, though. They’re torn up, loose, denim ones, the kind Melissa Etheridge would have probably worn in her nomadic youth.
Kendall started the movement at Coachella this spring wearing ripped jorts, a bikini and a vest. The only real issue with the G Jort look is that it doesn’t look good. They're just an exceptionally awkward item of clothing.
In reality, the knee to ankle zone should be a no cut area, like a no fly zone on your body. Just don’t go there. But "fashion forward" models keep trying to make it happen, like "I have such a rockin’ bod, I can wear even these disgusting ill fitting shorts, look!" Why.
Why not just stick to flattering clothing? If you look mediocre in G Jorts, you'll look good in normal shorts? It that rocket science? Who knows. Either way we’re hoping G-Jorts go away very soon.
