How To Get Your Life Together This Fall

By Miss Ameribetch

Betches don’t do New Year’s Resolutions, but every year around September, we do slightly reinvent ourselves as we realize, oh shit I should probably get my life together. But don’t worry, because this Fall you have a lot to look forward to.

As you put away the white dresses and replace them with your knits and scarves, you take a moment to remember the boats and margaritas that came and went this summer. But you’re all about living your best life, so instead of looking back, you fall forward by dying your hair dark to symbolize you’re keeping it down to earth this Fall.

As you go apple picking in the crisp fall air, you’ll think about going to grad school or looking for a new job. Get your personal life together by feeling good about your career and school choices. If you’ve been thinking about going back to grad school, Fall is the time to crack open a study book. With all the “Back to School” advertisements filling your space, the idea of getting ahead of the curve is going to seem enticing again.  Or maybe it’s time for a career move, and you feel stuck in your current position.  Summer is known to be a slow work season, so you can take advantage of the new energy of fall to make a jump to where you want to be.

Maybe you had a crazy summer and one too many blackouts at Surf Lodge, but don’t worry. Now that it’s cooling down, you’ll be able to go on morning runs again without feeling like a human sauna.  Take ten or fifteen minutes a day to read the headlines and you’ll feel like a better person than your June 2015 violet hair’ed self would lead you to believe. We recommend theSkimm for a consistent, quick re-cap delivered to your inbox every morning.

Speaking of reading the news, as the Presidential campaign picks up steam, it won’t be hard to get a sense of what every candidate is all about. Take a look at the main issues up for debate, but don’t get too lost in the social issues – those are just there to bait voters into getting emotional about their vote. The real information lies in economical beliefs and foreign relations.  Thank god for the Internet or we’d never make informed decisions.

Finally, as you enter into this new phase of your life, just know that you’re doing something right if you look back at yourself a year ago and think “Wow, what was I thinking?” It’s a sign you’re going in the right direction. Pumpkin beer cheers to an upgraded you this Fall.
