Whether you’re on vacation, at a concert, a fancy restaurant or it’s just another Tuesday at the office, every betch wants to live a life that is Instagram-worthy. But we all know that person that feels the need to post the stupidest shit. We get it, everybody likes the pumpkin spice latte. We don’t need 5 posts of you and your bae.
Still, Instagram is an escape from the day-to-day snooze fest. It’s your way of letting people know that you’re doing cool shit. But you don’t need to be a celebrity to Instagram like a betch. Here’s how to do it without making everyone hate you.
Not like when your grandma tells you she’s on Tinder uncomfortable. This kind of uncomfortable means doing shit that scares you, but will ultimately make you a more fabulous betch. It’s stuff like asking out your office crush or crashing a party. This is what stops us from falling into a soul-sucking routine.
Create moments that are actually worth posting. Of course, you may run into a few duds and lame parties along the way, but that’s what it takes to lead an Instagram-worthy life.
You know those people who think of Instagram as a place to stash all their cat pictures, share all their meals and put a 5 paragraph caption under their 100th selfie of the month (which also looks identical to every other selfie they’ve posted)? One: Someone please give those people an Instagram intervention.
Two: Instagram is like dieting. Sure, that salad and green smoothie might seem good at first. But if you eat the same crap for weeks, you’re going to look like Gollum searching for a “precious” slice of pizza and a tasty margarita to wash it down.
The point is, experiences that are worth a post are different and diverse. Don’t bore people to death by posting the same things all the time.
Although our phones are one of our most beloved accessories, sometimes it’s ok to put it down. Live in the moment. Don’t obsess over posting everything right away. That’s what #latergram, #ThrowbackThursday and #FlashbackFriday are for. Take a few snaps, capture the moment and post it later.
People will obsess about what they don’t understand. So if you want to get a lot of attention and comments, make people wonder what the hell is going on. It’s like when a guy sends you a text and you don’t know what he means—people will keep thinking about your post until they understand. But be careful not to post things so weird that people think you’re a freak. It's a thin line. Basically, you want to be doing cool and interesting shit without giving too much away.
