If you've been following Taylor Swift's attention seeking journey to take over the world with #SqUaDs and smiles, then you know that she pulled a shady AF move on New Year's Eve. Basically, she tried to take the spotlight away from our beloved blackout holiday by dropping her newest music video for the 2014 song 'Out Of The Woods' that very same night.
Even though the song is definitely, probably about Harry Styles, Swift's new video seems to preach the idea of finding oneself (which to be honest is even more boring than her sad song about John Mayer.) Hey, Tay Tay. Your faux feminism has surpassed the line of being uninteresting. Can we be over it now?
Whatever. At least she looks pretty with her low-key smokey eye and on-point makeup. Here's how to get the look yourself — so you can be just as progressive. Girl power!
Cover the base of your eye with a soft, matte brown shadow like Buck from Urban Decay. Then get a dark eggplant colored pencil (loooove this one by Giorgio Armani, in color #5) and rub it below your lower lash line and on your top. Finish off with a very thin, but winged out black liner. Then, of course, aggressively coat your lashes with mascara. If you're going to be battling through snow, mud, and tree branches (???), better use waterproof.
It doesn't seem like Swift went wild with the contour here, but she does look shadily tanner than usual. Maybe it's the dirt, IDK, but it's working. Add a deep, rose colored blush like Tarte Amazonian Clay in 'Dazzled' to the apples of your cheeks, and apply a matter bronzer like Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer everywhere the sun would naturally hit you (cheeks, bridge of nose, forehead, chin.)
Wrap up the look with a sheer rose colored lip (try Dolce Vita by Nars), some clear gloss, and a penchant for incredibly obvious metaphors.
