As this website has gone to great lengths to present, life is very difficult when your parents are rich. It's like, if you grow up rich, what do you have to aspire to? That's probably the very question one Jake Benjamin Croman struggled with, as he watched his multimillionaire NYC landlord father more or less live out one of the subplots from Netflix's Daredevil. But since Jake currently goes to school in Michigan (where literally nothing interesting has ever happened), his options were limited. His ultimate, very good choice for making it "on his own?" Being a fucking assbag to an low-income contract worker:
The University of Michigan: giving new meaning to the phrase "I mean, it's good for a state school, I guess."
The video was uploaded by Uber driver Artur Zawada, who claims to have a 4.8 rating after over 2,600 rides. In the comments under the video, Zawada explains that he'd been harassed by Croman and his crew on multiple occasions. He says he initially banned Croman, but continued to be harassed because Croman would order rides using his friend's accounts. In this, what Zawada claims is their fourth meeting, he displays that Wolverine rapier wit, calling Zawada a "little faggot fuck" and a "minimum wage faggot," among other things.
(Note: Uber does not pay their drivers an hourly wage, but a percentage of their fares. You would think the son of such a skilled
slumlord businessman would know this).
Croman told Buzzfeed that the whole exchange was a misunderstanding, and that what we didn't hear was Zawada insulting Croman for being Jewish.
"This video shows one side of an argument I had with an Uber driver two weeks ago after he refused to pick me up on the basis of my religion. What you don’t see in the video is that the driver had made a number of offensive anti-Semitic remarks that provoked my response. I am not proud of my reaction to his discrimination and I regret my choice of words. Shortly after the verbal altercation, I filed a complaint with the Ann Arbor Police Department and they are now dealing with the issue."
True or not, Croman has succeeded where so many wealthy children fail—he's made a name for himself independent of his father's success. He even has his own website!
You go, Jake Croman!
