Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is going to play Alan Parrish in the Jumanji reboot.
If you were a tot/tween/functioning adult in 1995, you remember the adventure film where jungle plants started growing through the floors and a massive lion swung from a chandelier.
Robin Williams, who played Alan Parrish in the OG Jumanji, passed away in 2014 of an apparent suicide, and we are still not over it. We still miss him like hell, but The Rock promises that the roll of Alan is in good hands. He shared a lengthy post on Instagram, where he pledged that "the character of 'Alan Parrish' will stand alone and be forever immortalized in the world of Jumanji in an earnest and cool way."
Personally, I can't picture a muscle-head wrestler in a roll that dad-bod Robin Williams once had, but I'll give it a shot. Rumor has it that the rest of the roles are supposed to be filled by major stars, including Kevin Hart. More casting information is supposed to drop later this week, so stay tuned for further updates on how Hollywood is ruining your favorite childhood movies.
