I Didn't *Need* To Know Martha Stewart Doesn't Wear Underwear, But I'm Glad I Do

Martha Stewart doesn’t wear underwear — she wears swimsuits instead. And honestly same! On laundry day, I can be found in an old bikini waiting for the wash cycle to finish. The only difference between me and Martha Stewart is that I’m terrified of getting a UTI. So, before you judge this lifestyle icon for her behavior, consider the benefits: Less laundry and always pool-ready.

“I like bathing suits,” she told Page Six. “I like wearing bathing suits under my clothes just in case I want to go swimming.”

“Bathing suits are my underwear,” she added. “I don’t wear any of that structured stuff. No tight lace, no Skims for Martha. But I love Skims. I think they serve a very good purpose — but I don’t wear those. I only wear Aerie bathing suits under my clothes.”

Admittedly, I have so many questions: when did she stop wearing underwear? Was there a dramatic Marie Kondo moment where she yelled, “Underwear does not bring me joy!!” then donated all of her underwear to Goodwill? Is someone walking around in Martha Stewart’s underwear right now? Or did she never wear underwear? Her brand posted the tutorial “How To Organize an Underwear Drawer,” in 2017, so I can only assume she was pro-underwear before the pandemic.

Questions aside, this woman knows how to live life. From posting thirst traps on social to being the oldest cover model on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. My only concern is if Kim K will come for her now that she’s disavowed Skims. And relatable queen that she is, she’s also a people pleaser! “Is Kim Kardashian going to be mad at me?” she wondered out loud. Following up with, “No, she won’t be mad at me. She knows I don’t wear Skims.”

Crisis averted. Now we’ll just wait to see if Kanye writes a song about it.
