Betches Love This Music: It's Fucking Back

By Music Betch

Ugh finally Blackout Wednesdays can go back to the way they once were - getting fucked up, but to a sick ass tune.

Paul Oakenfold & Matt Goss present The Concrete Sneakers - Touch The Sky (Disfunktion Remix)

What do you get when you breed a label boss with an international pop star? A plethora of diverse musical background elements coupled with crossover vocals that spawns a sublime track, that's what. "Touch The Sky", the first work released by Paul Oakenfold and London born, LA-based singer Matt Goss under their pseudonym "The Concrete Sneakers", has been brought to an entirely new level of miraculous by Dutch electro house maestros Disfunktion. It's already generated massive support both on radio and in clubs worldwide, so hop on this popularity train and take a listen (credible popularity source = Madonna, because Paul Oakenfold has been dropping it in his latest sets when opening for her MDNA tour).

Morgan Page feat. Tegan & Sara - Body Work (Lazy Rich Remix)

Yes we know this song is kind of very old but we love it, and couldn't not share. Morgan Page, renowned for being a progressive-house immortal Herculean God amongst lesser music peasants, creates productions that are dubbed 'The Tits' all on their own. But the real glitter and mist magical shit happens when remixes are involved. I relate with the title of the Tegan & Sara-assisted track "Body Work" (because it's what mine should be doing in the gym 24-7), but dig the five-note electro melody remix that Lazy Rich has cooked up WAY more. Talk about straddling the finely tuned progressive/electro line perfectly.

Flux Pavilion - Blow The Roof

English Dubstep Wizard aka producer Flux Pavilion works some high-energy beats magic in this serious banger, which prompts facemelting status immediately after pressing play. A far cry from his school days, during which he tried his hand in genres spanning from jazz to funk to hip-hop (this one time, in 5th grade, I fooled myself into thinking I'd be a kickass French Horn player - where the hell is my good Dubstep DJ karma?), it was love at first eargasm for many bad life decision makers when this first dropped at EDC Vegas 2012. Makes sense that the only lyrics involve turning something up on your face, running something up your face, or blowing the lid off of a place.

Kid Massive and Alex Sayz - Strong Feat. Miella (Dannic Remix)

One of Revealed Recordings first stellar releases of 2013, "Strong" was conceived by bringing together Alex Sayz (Swede, natch, because LITCH every EDM genius is), fast rising Danish producer Kid Massive, and the almost haunting vocal stylings of American singer Miella. Paired with undeniably upbeat keys, Dannic's dark and rhythmic remix jam is fit for everything from clubs to global festivals to thoe times when I feel like pregaming in the shower with a stiff drink (or five). P.S. Did you know Dannic is 25? I turn 25 in June and have done nothing but rob my own bank account blind numerous times and successfully blackout basically every weekend since graduation in 2010. It's official, I'll never amount to anything. Sorry Mom.
