If you’ve read a newspaper or magazine in the last year, you know that there’s a little something called an "athleisure" movement brewing. It started with brands like Lululemon and Athleta creating clothes that can be worn to yoga and the grocery store and around the house and driving and basically doing anything. Then established companies like Tory Burch started developing athletic lines and then a bunch of new companies appeared in the past five years and we are now amidst a crowded market.
Among the handful of new brands we have a far and away favorite: Outdoor Voices. The brand was founded in 2013 based on the idea that “doing things is better than not doing things,” and to that we say: calm down. But your leggings are flattering so whatever.
Literally chill, Nike.
Really the best part about Outdoor Voices is 1) It’s not as aggressive as Under Armour, Nike and even sometimes Lululemon and 2) You can go out in their clothes. Like literally you can turn their high end sports bras into an evening crop and ta-freaking-da, you’re set to go. If that isn’t the dream I don’t know what is.
So if you got some lame ass pajama set for Christmas, return it for something useful, like a sports bra you can wear to a bar.
