The White House may ban selfies with Barack Obama. Recently Red Sox player David Ortiz took a selfie with the prez that was used as part of a Samsung promotion, apparently, without Obama’s approval. In response to the incident, Senior Advisor Dan Pfeiffer told CBS “Someone who uses the President’s likeness to promote a product…that’s a problem. Maybe this will be the end of all selfies.” I mean, I know if I ever met Obama I'd probably go for a selfie before a handshake so this is like, kind of a problem.
Wayyy to go, Ortiz. This is so annoying. I mean, what’s the point of even meeting the prez if you can’t tweet out a selfie bragging about it? On the other hand, maybe Obama is just sick of every one posting pics of him he doesn’t like. I mean, it wasn’t bad, but that Ortiz pic definitely didn’t show off Obama’s good angles. Read article>>
What’s George W. been up to the last eight years? Well, painting, apparently. In his Presidential Library in Dallas, Bush recently unveiled portraits he has painted of world leaders. CBS reported that reactions to the paintings have been “mixed”. Our verdict: they’re not too bad. Sure, some of them look like a 6th grade art project gone wrong, but he REALLY captured Putin’s blank stare of death. We’ll give you this one, Bush. Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Front Party in France, said that French schools should not accommodate Jewish and Muslim students by offering pork-free lunch options. Le Pen defended this decision by saying that offering special lunch options goes against France’s secular values. “There is no reason for religion to enter the public sphere,” she said, “That’s the law.” Umm…isn’t forcing kids to do something that’s against their religion actually bringing up religion MORE?
