With a fucking blizzard keeping half the east coast trapped inside and everyone else forced to hear them bitch about it, we were all collectively taking a stroll down memory lane this week to the sunny summer days when our biggest concern was whether to use tanning oil with SPF 8 or 4. While we daydream of days when we’re not stuck inside with nips that could cut glass, we picture ourselves Zac Brown Band style sprawled out on a beach chair with our toes in the water, ass in the sand, not a worry in a world, a cold drink in our hand. Betchy summer drinks usually consist of fruity sangria, exotic tequila, and anything that won’t make our beach bods bloat. Here we introduce one of the betchiest drinks of the distant summer that we happen to drink year round: Spiked Seltzer.
Spiked Seltzer is headquartered in Westport - an upscale Connecticut town that draws the type of people who do hot yoga and eat acai bowl while wearing Patagonias. Spiked Seltzer is a refreshing, bubbly alcoholic seltzer drink that betches will love for being low carb, all natural, and this years hottest trend that no one really understands and never legitimately follows: gluten free! This drink has refreshing flavors such as Lime, Grapefruit, Orange and even a wintery classic: Cranberry. The mermaid logo is nautical and trendy, and every betch will live for the inspirational quote under the cap they can add to their Instagram caption while they drink it at the beach in Cape Cod or Nantucket. Mostly found in the New York and Massachusetts area, one of the biggest carriers for the brand seems to be the organic betch's headquarters: Whole Foods.
While one might assume this drink to be a summer only drink like Corona, Spiked Seltzer can be utilized in the most frigid of winters. You have spring break coming up? You might want an alternative to that Natty Light you seem to always end up with at the party. Wedding season is right around the corner - you’ll want to attract the hottest groomsmen and your sexy dress is preeeetty tight.
Most importantly, for the true alcoholic betches: this delicious, refreshing drink can even be used as the MIXER for higher content alcoholic drinks such as vodka. Your vodka soda is now double spiked. You just pregamed the pregame with one drink without breaking a sweat or exceeding your caloric intake for the day. Kudos.
