St. Patty's Day Dranks Part 2: The Savory

By Betchy Crocker

Hooray! It’s time for St. Patrick’s Day alcoholic dranks, part 2! Today, we turn our focus from the sweeter variety of booze to the more savory. Expand your drinking horizons; turn your back on tequila and rum and, instead, try some Amaro Lucano and vermouth. The world is your shamrock on this, the sacred holiday of drinking.

The Lucano Cup O’ Gold

A sweet blend of only Amaro Lucano, apple juice and ginger ale, this savory libation can be easily mixed together before your St. Patrick’s day party.

  • 1 ½ oz. Amaro Lucano
  • 2 oz. apple juice
  • 2 oz. ginger ale

Mix the drink directly in a glass and serve with a slice of cucumber, a slice of lemon and orange, a sprig of mint and ice.

The Lucky Negroni

Light, refreshing and with only three ingredients, this golden cocktail is a must-have for your Irish-inspired weekend!

  • 1 ½ oz. Vermouth Royal Blanc
  • 1 ½ oz. G’Vine Gin
  • 1 oz. Suze

Pour all ingredients into an ice filled old-fashioned glass and stir.

A Wee Little Pot O' Gold

No need to look at the end of a rainbow for this gem! Featuring Usquaebach whisky, this invigorating sipper can be easily mixed at your St. Paddy’s day party!

  • 2 oz. Usquaebach Reserve
  • 4 oz. Club Soda
  • 2 dash orange bitters
  • Twist of lemon

Fill a highball glass with ice. Add bitters and scotch. Fill with cub soda. Add lemon twist as a garnish.

Have a safe, drunken, and memorable (or not) St. Patty’s. Long live green beer and potatoes.
