Another Simple Favor is officially coming our way in a few months, and I am on the edge of my seat waiting for this press tour. Ya know, the first one Blake Lively will do since the super smooth, chill, and uneventful It Ends With Us press tour… Yup, she’s back for the A Simple Favor sequel, starring alongside Anna Kendrick again. As a fan of the 2018 comedy crime thriller, I can’t wait. The film is set to premiere at South By Southwest (SXSW) in March and if Blake attends the festival, it will be her first public appearance since the beginning of her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni.

Obviously, Blake and Anna are returning to reprise their starring roles as Emily and Stephanie, respectively. Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin and Henry Golding are also returning for the second installment, and there are new additions to cast too: Elizabeth Perkins, Michele Morrone, Alex Newell and Allison Janney.

What’s Another Simple Favor About?

In the 2018 film, based on Darcey Bell’s novel of the same name, a small-town vlogger, Stephanie, investigates the disappearance of her mysterious friend, Emily. Another Simple Favor will follow Stephanie and Emily’s trip to Capri, Italy for Emily’s wedding to a wealthy Italian businessman. Per the logline, there’s “murder and betrayal.” Yeah, I’m gonna eat this up.

Another Simple Favor Director Paul Feig On Blake Lively And It Ends With Us

When SXSW announced that Another Simple Favor will premiere have its world premiere during the March 7 festival in Texas, someone on Instagram sarcastically commented: “Is it Paul Feig’s cut or Blake’s cut?” Paul quickly chimed in to defend the actress. “It’s my cut,” he responded in the comments. “There is no other cut. Blake has been nothing but supportive and a dream to work with. She is the best and an amazing collaborator and I’m her biggest fan. Just wanted to clear that up.”

And this isn’t the first time he’s spoken out in defense of Blake. Back in late December, he shared a link to the New York Times article about her complaint against Justin. “I’ve now made two movies with Blake and all I can say is she’s one of the most professional, creative, collaborative, talented and kind people I’ve ever worked with,” the director wrote at the time. “She truly did not deserve any of this smear campaign against her. I think it’s awful she was put through this.”
