Celebs Are Sharing ~Strong Opinions~ About Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sánchez’s Wedding
Thank goodness for these divas.
Welp, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez officially tied the knot this weekend in a painfully opulent $50 million extravaganza in Venice, Italy. Naturally, the guest list was stacked with Hollywood’s elite and fellow members of the one percent — Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Brady, Oprah, and several Kardashians (no shock there) were all in attendance.
After the ceremony, Kim K reposted wedding photos from Vogue’s June digital cover story on her Instagram Story and tagged Lauren. “What a beautiful bride you are,” she wrote. “We all cried watching you walk down the [aisle] in pure bliss!” Kim went on to praise the “magical forest” setting (that would be the island of San Giorgio Maggiore) and added, “The love we all felt in the room is what we will never forget and why we all love and support you both so much. Forever rooting for the happiest couple! You deserve it all!” Great news for Kim: They actually already have it all… and much more.
Other celebs, however, weren’t so impressed by the spectacle. Since the lavish festivities wrapped, a few A-listers who didn’t attend have shared their takes on social media, and I’m giggling. Here are the celebs who’ve shaded Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding so far.

Rosie O’Donnell
The comedian had a lot to say about this wedding in her Substack newsletter. “It turned my stomach,” she wrote. “Seeing all these billionaires. Gathering in the gross excess of it all. The show of it.”
She added, “Is Oprah friends with Jeff Bezos? Really, how is that possible? He treats his employees with disdain. By any metric he is not a nice man. And his fake fem bot wife. Who looks like that? Why would he choose her? After the salt of the earth Mackenzie.”
Rosie emphasized that Americans have “become numb to gross excess. We have learned to tolerate it.” She criticized “celebrity worship” that’s “devoid of humanity.”
Katie Couric
The journalist and author commented on a since-deleted post shared by America’s sweetheart, Jack Schlossberg. (He shared Lauren’s cringe Vogue cover.) “Welcome to the eighties—when big hair and conspicuous consumption ruled,” Katie wrote, roasting Lauren’s wedding look. “Apparently tacky is back.”
Charlize Theron
Charlize referenced Jeff and Lauren’s Italian wedding during the fifth annual Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project Block Party in Los Angeles. “I think we might be the only people who did not get an invite to the Bezos wedding,” she quipped onstage at the event. “But that’s okay because they suck and we’re cool.” Where’s the lie? She wouldn’t have been able to attend anyway ’cause she was busy criticizing the T*ump administration and supporting the health and safety of youth in South Africa.

Olivia went the subtle shade route, which I can also respect. One day after the wedding, she commented on Mia Farrow’s IG post praising Jeff’s ex-wife, Mackenzie Scott. “How awesome is MacKenzie Scott!” Mia wrote. “As of mid-December 2024, she had given a total of $19.3 billion to over 1600 charitable organizations.” Olivia chimed in in the comments section: “Truly incredible.” Is the timing just a coincidence? I doubt it <3.
