I sincerely hope you’ve practiced dancing to and belting: “H-O-T-T-O-G-O / You can take me hot to go!” If this is the Chappell costume you’re choosing, you better be ready to give that performance all night. No excuses. Seriously though, this is such a cute, fun, signature Chappell to be for Halloween. You get to look fab in some yellow fringe shoulder pads, a bodysuit, chunky white boots, and decorative sparkly stars… plus it’s probably the most comfy Chappell costume out there, which isn’t saying much, but it’s something. Channel your inner Missouri cheerleader! I know she’s in there somewhere.

For my traditional queens, here’s the classic Chappell costume: her album cover. I don’t blame you for wanting to dress like a princess and serve in some sophisticated white gloves, a tiara, and an elegant blue gown. Did we have personalities before this album came out just over a year ago? I personally have no recollection of life before the “Hot to Go” dance, “My Kink is Karma” dedications to exes, or painful Chappell politics TikTok discourse. I pray that by next Halloween, there’s a sophomore Chappell album cover to use for inspo… we shall see.

It doesn’t get more iconic than Chappell as Lady Liberty at Gov Ball. Was I there? No. Was she at All Things Go, which I did attend in hopes of seeing her? No. But I digress. Even just watching TikTok and Instagram clips of her coming out of an apple bong and singing her heart out in this Statue of Liberty drag made me cry happy tears. If you’re trying to emulate Lady Liberty Chappell this Halloween, I salute you, but you have your work cut out for you. Like, you actually have to cut straps from faux leather and attach them to shorts to recreate her skirt. You also have to commit to painting yourself green, but hey, it’s almost Wicked season after all.
