A good hearty LOL can be hard to come by these days, which is why I keep my phone close and my favorite girlie pop comedians closer. I’m not one to get all parasocial, but the bitches that can make me giggle through the screen are basically more important to me than most people I know IRL. That’s why I grinned from ear to ear when Meg Stalter, a comedic weirdo whose videos had been flooding my group chat for years, went mainstream with her big break on Hacks in 2021. Kayla (of ~spicy boiii~ fame) instantly became an underachiever’s icon, and now, a few years later, Meg is upping the ante by nabbing the titular role in Lena Dunham’s new show, Too Much. The casting gawds really cooked there, because Meg really is too much, which is to say a cry-laughing riot. I’m introducing you to all of Meg Stalter’s funniest internet moments before she really blows up.
Ahhh, the video that basically started it all. Meg does many POV sketch videos, but her impersonation of a butter saleswoman doing promo for Pride cemented her on my Mount Rushmore of comedy freaks. We love gay!

I’m holding back tears of laughter thinking about how many influencers probs angry-texted their managers for not being invited to Charli’s LA bday banger in the summer of 2024. You know, the one Rosalia brought her a cigarette bouquet for. Honestly, relatable, considering it happened at my neighborhood bar and I was kinda confused why I wasn’t there, either.
Extremely niche, yet extremely important, impressions are Meg Stalter’s specialty. Likes, yes, I did need to fantasize about Nikki Blonsky’s POV on the Alabama Barker/Bhad Bhabie feud, turns out.
I need this imaginary actress cast in the upcoming third season of the best Hollywood mockumentary of all time (The Comeback), ASAP. “I GUESS WE’RE RATS,” lives rent-free in my head.
If we don’t satirize the ridiculous beauty standard, we’ll cry, ya know?
Too Much is premiering at the perfect time (meaning right after I binged Overcompensating). I love when the funniest people on the internet collab!! In my house, this is the Barbie movie.
