Prince Harry Is Low-Key Plotting A Royal Family Reunion

In my experience, most family reunions are hot and loud and involve matching T-shirts of some kind. So when I learned that Prince Harry is planning his own version of a family reunion, that’s exactly what I pictured. But it’s pretty hard to picture the royal family at a backyard BBQ, and I don’t think that’s going to actually be happening anytime soon. What is going to maybe happen, though, is some kind of meeting between Prince Harry and his estranged family.

Prince Harry has been pretty much estranged from his brother, Prince William, or dad, King Charles, for quite some time, ever since he put down roots in California with his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. Harry and William did sort of cross paths at their uncle’s funeral in 2024, and the royals all gathered when the Queen died in 2022. But, neither of those was exactly a big celebration and, by all accounts, there still wasn’t much interaction between Harry and the rest of his fam at either of them.

But now, Harry is hopeful that he can reunite with William and Charles, and he’s got a whole plan to make it happen. This is what we know about Prince Harry’s possible royal family reunion with Prince William and King Charles.

So, my visions of a low-key potluck family reunion aren’t exactly in keeping with the royal aesthetic. But the Invictus Games are, and they’re part of Prince Harry’s rumored plan to get together with his family. The Invictus Games are a multi-sport event for wounded and injured veterans, which Prince Harry founded in 2014. Invictus is held every other year, and Harry is hoping William and Charles will join him for the next games in 2027.

A source told Mail on Sunday that Harry plans to extend “an olive branch” to his brother and father in the form of the Invictus Games invitation. “Invictus hopes the royal family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part. Harry is hopeful his father will set aside their differences to attend the Invictus Games and support veterans,” the source said.

Even though the event isn’t happening for another two years, the discussions about the invitations are happening now. You know how those royal schedules can be; you gotta book your time with them well in advance.

In May, Harry told the BBC he’d “love reconciliation” with his family. “There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” he said.

No word yet on how the U.K.-based side of the fam will respond. But mark your calendars for two years from now; we just might see a little royal reunion then.
