Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White is finally hitting theaters on March 21 after about a bazillion controversies. This movie, which stars Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, is definitely cursed. In 2022, Rachel’s Hunger Games costar, Peter Dinklage, blasted Disney for “making that fucking backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together.” (Peter has a common form of dwarfism.) Also, Rachel faced vicious backlash when she called the original film “extremely dated” regarding “ideas of women being in roles of power and what a woman is fit for in the world.” And oh yeah, the set literally caught fire before filming started.
Now, there’s a rumored feud between Rachel and Gal that allegedly has to do with their political differences and Rachel’s comments about the original movie. Fans have noticed some tension… Are Snow White stars Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot friends or feuding? Here’s what we know about their off-screen dynamic.

It seems like these two are strictly costars. A source told People that Rachel “has nothing in common with Gal Gadot, a mom of four kids.” Rachel is 23 and Gal is 39, but it sounds like there’s more to the story here than a significant age gap/different phases of life. The source noted, “On top of that, their political views differ, adding to the tension.”
Gal also allegedly disagreed with Rachel’s comments about the original Snow White film being “dated.” According to one of People‘s sources, Gal believes “you don’t criticize and cause drama for a project you signed on to do. She just doesn’t get it.”
Although Rachel and Gal aren’t besties, they’ve remained professional and cordial throughout the Snow White promo season. The actresses follow each other on Instagram, haven’t said a bad word about each other publicly, and have made several appearances together at events. Rachel and Gal recently posed for photos together at the Snow White Los Angeles premiere. They also presented together at the Oscars.
“This isn’t like a ‘stay away from me’ situation,” another source clarified to People about their relationship. “They were at the Oscars together. They’ll be together this weekend.” Ultimately, Gal “was fine with Rachel but they are not friends.” She’s apparently “annoyed” by the drama surrounding the movie.
Gal and Rachel have shared opposite perspectives on the ongoing Israel/Palestine conflict. Gal was born in Israel and served in the Israel Defense Forces. She stands with Israel and is an advocate for the release of Israeli hostages. “I am all about humanity, and I felt like I had to advocate for the hostages,” Gal told Variety. “I know what I’m advocating for, and I know what I wish for the world. I am praying for better days for all. I want everybody to have good life and prosperity, and the ability to raise their children in a safe environment.”

Rachel has publicly shared that she’s pro-Palestine. In August 2024, the actress tweeted, “And always remember, free Palestine.” Interestingly, she tweeted this right after the Snow White trailer came out.
