The billionaire musicians club is pretty small: There’s Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Bruce Springsteen, and yes, Selena Gomez. The singer and actress officially achieved billionaire status in September 2024, according to Bloomberg. And Selena is entirely self-made — her mother, Mandy Teefey, had her at 16 and was a single mom who worked multiple jobs to support her daughter. “I can remember about seven times when our car got stuck on the highway because we’d run out of gas money,” Selena recalled to Elle in 2012. She added, “My mom gave up everything for me.”

At 32, Selena is the Founder and CEO of one of the most successful celeb beauty brands out there: Rare Beauty. While that’s where most of her billion bucks comes from, the multi-hyphenate has also earned revenue from acting, music, and brand partnerships. Here’s everything to know about Selena Gomez’s net worth, including details about her different streams of income.

Bloomberg reported that Selena’s net worth is about $1.3 billion and that the “vast bulk” of her wealth comes from Rare Beauty, the feel-good, high-quality cosmetics line she founded in 2019. The makeup brand is beloved by teens, influencers, and Selenators everywhere (including moi). The publication’s wealth estimate for Selena is primarily based on the “estimated value” of her stake in the beauty brand.

The former Disney star also has a stake in her mental health platform Wondermind, which she founded in 2022 with her mom, Mandy Teefey, and entrepreneur Daniella Pierson. Not to mention, she’s made a healthy amount of income from her music royalties and starring roles in shows and movies, including Wizards of Waverly Place, Only Murders in the Building, Spring Breakers, Hotel Transylvania, Monte Carlo, Emilia Pérez, and more. (Per Bloomberg, Selena currently makes $6 million a season for Only Murders… not bad at all.)

Mind you, Selena’s also the third most followed person, only trailing behind soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. She has more than 420 million followers, which has earned her major brand partnerships with the likes of Puma (a reported $30 million deal) and Coach (a reported $10 million deal).

Fortunately, philanthropy is very important to Selena. When she started Rare Beauty, she also started the Rare Impact Fund with a goal to raise $100 million to help folks access mental health services. She’s also supported UNICEF, ENOUGH Project, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and more.

During an October 2024 red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight, Selena commented on her new billionaire status, and unsurprisingly, she was modest about it. “I’m very grateful,” she said. “I personally think it’s distasteful to talk about money, but I really am giving all the credit to people who buy the products.” (Rare Beauty products, that is.) Selena added, “They’re the ones that made this dream of mine come true, so I’m really, really honored and just happy.”
