Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag tragically lost their home to the Los Angeles wildfires on January 8, and they’ve been documenting the deeply traumatic experience on social media. Spencer posted a haunting video of their home burning last week and described the moment as a “nightmare come true” in his caption. Following the devastating loss, he pleaded with his followers to stream Heidi’s music to help their family financially recover. Fortunately, fans came through and bumped Heidi’s album, Superficial, to No. 1 on iTunes!
Since we’re all thinking of this family right now and hoping they’re okay, here’s an update on Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag’s home situation, kids, and streams of income.
During a January 15 appearance on Good Morning America, Spencer and Heidi shared what it was like to lose their home to the Pacific Palisades fire. Heidi recalled Spencer telling her to “grab anything you want to keep.” Through tears, she reflected, “How do you choose? You know? My brain stopped working because I was so overwhelmed with so many things you can’t replace.” The singer ultimately grabbed her kids’ teddy bears.

Spencer also shed tears as he remembered seeing their kids’ bedrooms burning on cameras. “The worst was like our kid’s room that was so magical,” he shared. “We do story time each night, it’s like our routine, so much love is in there. Our son’s bed started just burning in the shape of a heart.” He called the experience “out of body insane.”
The reality star said that now, he feels “like a ghost.” Spencer explained, “I don’t have a single photo now from before an iPhone existed. I don’t have any of the dumb little things that are on your shelves in your parents’ they’re all gone. Not a single nothing.”
To make matters even worse, The Hills stars revealed that their home and belongings were not insured because their insurance company dropped them.
Heidi’s really been on her pop music grind lately, releasing singles like “I’ll Do it,” “Go Harder,” and “Great 1.” Spencer is busy being her No. 1 fan and constantly posting about her music on his own platforms. Also, they apparently have a crystal pendants company called Pratt Daddy? They sell a variety of gem pendants, carved pendants, and chains.
Spencer and Heidi share two sons, Gunner and Ryker. They welcomed Gunner on October 1, 2017 and Ryker on November 17, 2022. During a December 2022 interview with Us Weekly, the reality stars gushed about parenting and their two boys. “The best part about motherhood is really seeing the family grow,” Heidi said at the time. “Gunner is thriving and it’s given him another dimension to his life. And to have that support and to see the two boys together is just amazing.” She also called Spencer “such a natural, loving father.”

Spencer joked that fatherhood has forced him to change his “self-centered” ways. “It really makes it impossible to focus on yourself,” he admitted. “I think that’s really good for my spirit and my soul. It’s a lot of growth.”
