She’s an icon, she’s a legend, and she is the moment — or they all are, I should say. Is this the fifth wave of feminism or something? Cause the girls simply can’t stop fucking slaying these days. Their jokes are top-tier, their fashion is always giving, their songs are smash hits, their scandals are scandal-ing, and they make girlhood the most exciting thing in the world. With Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS tour and sexy new releases from nearly every main pop girl, we find ourselves in Women In Music Spring/Summer. Not to mention, Zendaya’s Challengers and Gypsy Rose’s Life After Lock Up are about to be the best movie and TV show of the year.

The It Girl class of ’24 has truly arrived in Anna Wintour-level style; it’s time we put some respect on their iconic names. Some came from the Disney Channel, some from Ireland, and some from prison, but they’ve all risen to well-deserved spots at the top with grace and pizazz. To document this crucial time in herstory, I’ve crafted a 2024 It Girl Guide just for you. Here are my most favorite ladies and their IG qualifications.

Hey, @JoJo Siwa, I think this “gay pop” might’ve come first. This ginger legend is FINALLY getting her time in the Twitter and TikTok spotlights. (Thank you, GUTS tour.) The gifted lyricist and vocalist is a self-proclaimed Midwestern princess, and now she’s officially the people’s princess too. If you don’t know the “Hot To Go” and “Good Luck, Babe!” dances, what the fuck have you been doing?

All hail our Irish queen and Mother, who had the acting chops to slay her The Banshees of Inisherin role, Jenny the Donkey. She’s quite literally serving in The Bear, and Bottoms was one of my top five films of 2023. All It Girls need a juicy scandal, so thank goodness Ayo had an excellent one recently when her insulting (*cough* hilarious) podcast comments about J. Lo resurfaced. Mark my words: This icon is just getting started.

🎶My tummy hurts, I’m in love with her…🎶 In just the last few years, this wonderful woman has served us the best character on The Sex Lives of College Girls, a rizzmaster Regina George, the most cooky, memorable press tour of our time, and an album that absolutely ruined me. Plus, she recently came out as a proud lesbian, so we’re blasting “Pretty Girls” on repeat.

I’m just grateful to be alive during her rule.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard

Gypsy Rose Blanchard (not Ruth Bader Ginsburg, easy to get them confused) was released from prison just a couple months ago, and she is already making fucking waves. This woman recently filed for divorce, got matching tattoos with her ex, got a nose job, and teased her next docuseries, Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up. No one’s doing It Girl better than her right now.

Zendaya

I wanna thank this goddess for being the one constant in my life. Other celebs let me down time and time again, but I can always depend on her to serve jaw-dropping red carpet looks and Oscar-worthy acting performances. Zendaya’s been the main It Girl for almost a decade, and now, she’s entering the next stage of her career as the No. 1 tennis player in the world. Tom Holland is a blessed man.

She’s a comeback story, a gay icon, a Renaissance woman. In addition to her flawless discography, she’s mastered the art of the camp pap walk.
