Almost two years ago now, Wednesday premiered on Netflix and changed lives. In the coming-of-age supernatural series, Jenna Ortega stars as the sarcastic and deeply depressed Wednesday Addams, who spends her time at Nevermore Academy (monster school) investigating murders, doing iconic dances, and casually dating here and there. What more could you want in a show? People with TV taste have been desperately awaiting any news about a season 2 ever since, but it’s been mostly crickets until now. We finally got a look at the Wednesday season 2 trailer.

As a Scorpio with profound appreciations for dark humor and Jenna’s comedic timing, this show is actually everything to me, so I’m paying close attention to all the updates we get. Here’s everything to know about Wednesday season 2, including the release date, cast, and plot details.

Wednesday Season 2: Premiere Date, Cast, Trailer, Details

Wednesday Season 2 Trailer

Netflix did gift fans with a Wednesday season 2 trailer, which offers a first look at at Steve Buscemi’s Nevermore principal character. In the trailer, upon her return to Nevermore, Wednesday says it feels “like returning to the scene of the crime. I already know where the bodies are buried.” Oh, Wednesday, we can’t wait to see you bury even more.

When Is Wednesday Season 2 Coming Out?

Wednesday season 2 is getting a two-part release, with Part 1 dropping on Netflix on August 6 and Part 2 coming September 3.

Who’s In The Cast Of Wednesday Season 2?

Obviously, there’s not a show without Jenna Ortega, and she’ll return to portray the one and only Wednesday, everyone’s favorite goth sleuth. Most of Jenna’s costars from season 1 are also returning: We can expect to see Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene), Georgie Farmer (Ajax), and Victor Dorobantu (Thing). Serious regulars Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams) and Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams) will also appear in season 2, thank goodness.

And there are some new cast members as well! New faces in the upcoming season include: Billie Piper, Steve Buscemi, Evie Templeton, Noah Taylor, and Owen Painter.

Percy Hynes White (Xavier), who was accused of sexual assault last year, will notably not be returning to the show. In a May 2024 Instagram Story, he wrote, “I had so much fun working on this show. I can’t wait to watch season 2 🙂 Much love.”

This season also features Lady Gaga in a guest role as a Nevermore teacher, which TBH is maybe the most perfect casting of all time.

Wednesday Season 2 Plot Details

According to Netflix, the series will keep following “the supernatural mysteries” that occur around Wednesday at Nevermore Academy. We just got a sneak peek in a new teaser, but they really don’t give much away, unfortunately. “Season 2 is going to be bigger and more twisted than you can ever imagine,” Catherine promises in the behind-the-scenes video. Sounds on-brand to me! At the end, Jenna deadpans, “If we showed you any more, your eyes would bleed. And I’m not that generous.” Sigh.
