Although there were plenty of infuriating 2025 Oscar noms snubs (*cough* Challengers), there were also some really interesting surprises. One of those surprises was Monica Barbaro scoring a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her performance as Joan Baez in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown. Monica Barbaro’s Reaction To Her Oscar Nomination

Shortly after the Oscar noms were announced, Monica shared her reaction to the exciting news during a chat with Deadline. “This was really unexpected,” she said about her nomination. “I was trying not to pay attention to it because there are so many phenomenal actors performances this year and I’ve just been like, I’m not going to overthink it. I’m not going to expect any of it.” (The supporting actress award will probably go to Zoe Saldaña or Ariana Grande, but anything’s possible, of course.)
