If you’re like me, you’ve been foaming at the mouth ever since the trailer for Nicole Kidman’s Babygirl dropped. And for that to be the case despite me not being into age-gap relationships, is saying a lot. There’s just something about a man (you’re actually attracted to) telling you what to do and ordering you around — especially when you have to be a strong, independent woman in every other area of your life — that just feels orgasmic. Well, the sex is usually orgasmic too.

And while the trailer definitely gave a pretty good idea of the steamy sex scenes we can expect from the movie (hello, he stuck his thumb in her mouth!!!), Nicole’s press tour has shed a lot more light on just how sexy the movie is going to be. The main takeaways from her interviews? There is a lot of touch — and whether the movie or good or bad is still up for debate, but director Halina Reijn knows she at least made a hot movie. And honestly what else could we have asked for? Who cares about plot when the sex is at least good (how do you think 50 Shades ever became a franchise?).

Here’s everything Nicole Kidman has said about the Babygirl sex scenes.

Sometimes the amount of touch got overwhelming.

Nicole told The Sun that to really immerse herself in the piece, she had to be “on” all the time — which ended up feeling exhausted. “It’s like, ‘Don’t touch me,’” she said. “There were times when we were shooting where I was like, ‘I don’t want to orgasm any more.’” A sentence I don’t think I’ve ever said in my life.

She really “went there” with her character — especially in regards to the sex.

She spoke about how this role required her to really dive in, even when she didn’t always know what she was doing. “There’s a sort a ‘jump off the cliff’ thing where you go, Okay, I’m just going to abandon everything and explore this with the people that I trust in a genre that is already set, but hopefully we can explore new territory and especially with female at the helm,” Nicole told The Sun.

When it comes to exposure, this is the furthest Nicole has ever gone.

This could be a combination of vulnerability and dedication, but the sex scenes seem so hot in the trailer because they are — in fact, the hottest of Nicole’s career. “I’ve made some films that are pretty exposing, but not like this,” she says.

The sex was so constant and intense, that she needed a break.

Okay this part had me gagging because Nicole literally said, “It left me ragged” when talking about all the sex scenes she had to shoot. And I know I should be feeling empathetic and in awe of Nicole for putting so much of herself into the movie… but let’s be honest. I would like to see what kind of sex scene leaves her ragged.

She could barely watch it back with an audience.

We already know that Nicole said this film was super exposing – but according to The New York Times, it was so exposing that Nicole felt “vulnerable” and “naked” when she had to watch it with an audience for the first time. She even buried her head in Reijn’s chest as the movie played certain scenes.
