So… Where TF Is Ariana Grande At The 2025 Grammys?

Is the princess of pop making a statement?

Yes, Ariana Grande-Butera is a (Golden Globe award-winning) actress, but never forget, she is also a Grammy award-winning singer, too. Ari’s Grammys journey started back in 2015, at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. Her sophomore album, My Everything, was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album along with her iconic duet with Jessie J and Nicki M, “Bang Bang,” getting the nod for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Ariana wouldn’t actually take home the miniature golden gramophone until 2019, when she won Best Pop Vocal Album for Sweetener. She did the damn thing again in 2021 for her duo with Lady Gaga, “Rain On Me” (that music video dropping was such a pop culture core moment, damn).

But even though Ariana has received some love from the Academy, her Arianators (and presumably Miss Angel Pipes herself) are not too happy with the decisions made for the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. Anyone who took the time to really deep the album understands how special of a project Eternal Sunshine is. It prioritizes her personal artistry, like she did with Sweetener, more than the face-smacking mass appeal of Thank U, Next. (That was Ariana’s only album to be nominated for AOTY, BTW). But, like everything Ariana has ever released, Eternal Sunshine is painstakingly written, orally infectious (try not singing “We Can’t Be Friends” when it comes on, I dare you!), and gorgeously sung. Vocals! Not every pop star today has ’em! And yet Ariana Grande wasn’t awarded a nomination for Album Of The Year or Song of The Year…

Which is why the chances of Ari showing up on the red carpet with her boyfriend Ethan Slater always felt like a longshot. I mean, after all the negative speculation the couple has received, a hand-in-hand red-carpet photo opp has seemed unlikely regardless of how many nominations she got if we’re being real. But still, I hoped, wished, and prayed all January long that her and BOK would do it anyway. Did Ariana Grande skip the 2025 Grammys? It seems like the unfortunate answer is in.

Ariana Grande’s album Eternal Sunshine was snubbed from all of the big four categories in 2025: Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Best New Artist (duh). The album and several of its songs (“Yes, And,” “We Can’t Be Friends,” “The Boy Is Mine,” to name a few) were commercially successful and critically acclaimed, and yet she was only nominated for Best Pop Duo and Pop Vocals??? Ariana and her fans saw the huge snub as an oversight by the Grammy Academy that may have been worthy of skipping the event.

On top of being left out of the big four categories, the academy didn’t even show Ari’s artistry a little respect with a Best Music Video nomination. For the first time in years Ariana put out two huge music videos for “We Can’t Be Friends” (inspired by the movie Eternal Sunshine) and “The Boy Is Mine” but they weren’t acknowledged. Kendrick Lamar won the category for “Not Like Us” up against A$AP Rocky, Charli XCX, and the Grammy’s unshakeable fave Taylor Swift.

Ariana was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Pop Dance Recording. Dance Recording went to Charli XCX for “Von Dutch” over Ari’s nominated “Yes, and?”

More to come…
