Where Is The ‘Building The Band’ Cast Now? An Update On Which Bands Lasted

We need a spinoff about the bands in the real world!!

I have exactly one critique of Netflix’s Building the Band: It was too damn short. I need more band shenanigans and more VMAs-worthy performances! Whoever came up with the Love Is Blind–but–for–music concept, I salute you. The culture is starving for Top 40 bands at the moment, and the Building the Band casting folks understood the assignment. They got a bunch of hot, 20-something vocal powerhouses in booths and said, “We’re gonna make history.” And honestly? They did.

Based on the six bands that came out of this musical matchmaking experiment, I’d call season 1 a raging success. Sure, it was only 10 episodes, but I’m already emotionally attached to my faves, 3Quency and Soulidified. (Mentally preparing myself for those Ticketmaster queues.) It’s been a year since filming wrapped, so the Building the Band stars have been busy figuring out their next steps. Obviously, I’ve been doing some much-needed stalking. Where is the Building the Band cast now? Which bands lasted after the show ended? Here’s an update.

Building The Band Cast: Where Are They Now?

Is 3Quency Still Together?

Of course! These hard-working and ridiculously talented girlies took home the $500,000 prize after blowing the crowd away with their rendition of Chlöe’s “Have Mercy.” Now, Nori, Wennely, and Brianna are focusing on their next chapter as a band. “What’s coming next for us is definitely nothing regular. It’s loud, it’s fun, it’s exciting, it’s empowering,” Brianna shared to Netflix’s Tudum. She teased a “reinvention.” I’m so ready.

Is Sweet Seduction Still Together?

Not to shock anyone, but no, this group didn’t last. At the end of the day, there was more drama than camaraderie. Alison, Elise, and Haley were the second group eliminated, and apparently, they never even considered working together after the show. “We never talked about staying in a band,” Haley told Tudum. “We all had different paths so we moved forward individually.”

Elise opened up about the challenging experience in a vulnerable TikTok. “It was a really, really hard thing to do and a really hard situation to be in, so I have a hard time watching again and getting all of that trauma spat back in my face,” she shared. “I have had to do a lot of self work to come to a point where I’m not just bleeding anger everywhere.”

Speaking about Alison, Elise emphasized, “We will never be friends. We will never work together again.”

Is Midnight Til Morning Still Together?

Despite being in the bottom two literally every time, Midnight Til Morning did stay together, and it seems like they’re thriving! (Thank goodness they got past the whole ~Conor ditching the band for Alison~ situation.) “I think it was literally two weeks after we finished the competition, we flew the boys out. We were in Sydney for about a month in the studio together,” Mason told Tudum. “Since the show finished, we’ve probably spent three months solid in the studio just day in, day out. We’ve got a whole album ready to go.” The boys are already teasing a new song, “Bye.”

Is SZN4 Still Together?

Yes, the iconic runners-up are still making music together. “It kind of put this fuel underneath us,” Aaliyah told Tudum about not winning the show. “We were like, ‘We’re not stopping here. This is just the beginning.’ We knew that we had found something so incredibly special.” I’m excited for them, but I’m gonna need them to explain why they recently sang with James Charles of all people…

Is Soulidified / Iconyx Still Together?

I’m not really sure what we’re supposed to call them these days (there’s an Iconyx vs. Solidified online debate), but the boys are still together. “We each have our own solo thing going, but given the show and how big of an opportunity this is, we’re like, ‘Let’s get our shit together, let’s make some records,’ ” Landon told Tudum. “We already have some crazy songs. We want to give people a show. We’re ready to hop on tour. We’re ready for anything.” I’d buy tickets to that tour right this second. But while I wait for those to go on sale, I’m watching all of their performances on repeat!

Is Siren Society Still Together?

They were the very first band eliminated, but these adorable besties are sticking with the band and plan to release music soon. “We’re currently writing our own music and discovering a sound that really feels like us,” they told Tudum. “We’re still dancing, still laughing, and still loving every second we get to perform and create together. We can’t wait to share our original music with the world very soon.” On July 23, the girlies announced on TikTok: “OUR FIRST SINGLE WILL BE DROPPING VERY SOON!!!” Needless to say, I shall be streaming.
