Who Did Chris Hughes Date Before All The JoJo Siwa Drama?

Okay, I’m gonna jump right in and say I have a lot of questions about JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes’ relationship. For a while on Celebrity Big Brother, it seemed like the Love Island UK star and the Nickelodeon kid-turned-pop star were just really good friends. Chris was definitely laying the friendly flirting on thick, especially as a 32-year-old man befriending a 21-year-old who identified (at least at the time) as a lesbian in a relationship.

But, by the time JoJo left the Celebrity Big Brother House, she revealed she now identifies as queer and she broke up with her girlfriend Kath Ebbs. Kath claims there was some “emotional cheating” going on with Chris, which is hard to deny since it all happened on camera. But, JoJo and Chris say they just have a really strong platonic connection.

“It’s just a really strong bond between two people, which is just a strong friendship,” Chris said on ITV’s This Morning. “And I think you can have like a soulmate friendship. And to me it’s like that energy of where it’s not like the standard friendship that you have with your friends. But you know it’s still a friendship, and it’s just nice.”

All right, so let’s go with the “soulmate friendship” thing for now. I’m still curious to know more about Chris Hughes’ dating history before all this. Let’s investigate.

Who Has Chris Hughes From Love Island UK And Celebrity Big Brother Dated?

Chris first landed on everyone’s radar as a contestant on Love Island UK season 3 in 2017. He flirted his way through the villa, but left the show with girlfriend Olivia Attwood. But, Chris and Olivia didn’t last very long, and they broke up shortly after the show in 2018. Later on her show Olivia Meet Her Match, Olivia called the relationship with Chris “toxic.”

“I was just incompatible with Chris,” Olivia said. “You meet on this show and things are very different in the real world. You think ‘oh shit do we actually have stuff in common?’ It wasn’t meant to be.”

After Olivia, Chris dated Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson from 2019 to 2020. They seemed to stay on good terms even after their breakup, since Chris posted praise for her show Little Mix: The Search on Instagram.

Chris was also briefly seen with professional golfer Annabel Dimmock, but he’s been pretty quiet about his dating life since 2022. I guess three years is enough time to stay quiet, because now his drama with JoJo Siwa is definitely making a lot of noise.
