BIG NEWS! It’s an important fucking day today: Harry Styles might be single again. Yup, you read that sentence right. He and the woman, the myth, the icon, Taylor Russell, have reportedly ended their relationship after a little over one year together. Is part of me devastated? Yes. It’s always a tragedy when two of the hottest people alive don’t end up being each other’s perfect match, and I thought these two might go the distance. However. Most of me is celebrating. Let me just say: “I’d walk through fire for you / Just let me adore you,” Harry. From here on out, let this day be known as The Day of the Delulu Girl. We are here, we are passionate, and we are always ready to fight for true love. Plus, we were recently convinced by The Idea of You that this normie and Harry type of relationship is actually possible. But hold on a quick sec… why did Harry and Taylor call it quits? I looked into it for us, of course.
On May 19, a source spilled the Haylor 2.0 tea to The Sun. “They went through a rough patch after their trip to Japan [in April] and are taking some time apart,” the source revealed, noting that the couple’s romance became “strained recently.” Apparently, the singer has been spending time in America while the Canadian actress has been in London. According to the source, “They made a lovely couple and it was obvious Taylor made Harry happy.” Aw. Harry and Taylor have not publicly commented on their rumored split, so I’m sure we don’t have all the details yet. These two are notoriously private; I suppose we’ll just have to wait for the next Harry album to get the full story. I’m sensing some breakup ballads on the way…
Fans started wondering if Harry and Taylor had split after the Lost in Space star recently made her Met Gala debut — sans Harry. She obviously stunned on the Met steps, posing in a 3D molded wooden bodice and silk crepe marocain skirt featuring a thigh-high slit. I was among those who were disappointed that Harry didn’t accompany her in some kind of wild ensemble. But it wasn’t shocking, considering the 1D alum’s habit of keeping his love life out of the spotlight. Well, I’m gonna need many business days to overanalyze this and feel all the necessary feels.
