How TF Did ‘Sex Lives Of College Girls’ Season 2 End? A Necessary Pre-Season 3 Refresher

Chaos, chaos, and more chaos, basically.

The Sex Lives of College Girls was partially filmed at my college, plus one of my lord and saviors, Reneé Rapp, is in it (at least for now), so I obviously have no choice but to stan. Although I started watching this show while I was still in school myself, I’m now an old woman who can barely relate to the trials and tribulations of these cooky gals. JK — I could never relate to them at all. I was much less unhinged, fortunately. Approximately 50 years after season 2 came out, we’re finally getting season 3! The new season of the Max gem will be available to stream on the platform starting November 21. But with the amount of chaos in this show, it’s hard to recall exactly where we left off at the end of season 2, which is why I rewatched the iconic episode to refresh my memory. Please enjoy my detailed recap of The Sex Lives of College Girls season 2 finale.

Sex Lives Of College Girls Season 2 Finale Recap

Did Whitney And Andrew Break Up?

Yup, Whitney getting The Ick in a major way was fatal for her and Andrew’s relationship. Although she was more interested in a casual relationship the whole time, Andrew was not on the same page and was desperate to be her boyfriend. In the season finale, Whitney finally finds the courage to tell him they need to break up. Andrew pretends to be totally cool with that at first, but when he has a presentation in their next class, he breaks down crying in the middle of it. The male psyche is a fragile thing.

The Kimberly And Canaan Drama, Explained

Oh, Kimberly. I want to like you because Timothée Chalamet’s sister is playing you, but you make it actually impossible. At the end of season 2, girlie has a massive crush on Canaan… as in Whitney’s ex-boyfriend. When she starts to figure out that he likes her back, she confronts him about it outside of a party, and then they kiss. Of course, Whitney just so happens to witness the kiss. The next day, she gives Kimberly a chance to tell the truth, but that obviously doesn’t happen. Whitney decides that she doesn’t wanna room with Kimberly next year (don’t blame her) and she goes to Kappa to ask for a room there.

Why Did Leighton Quit Greek Life?

At the beginning of the finale episode, Leighton gets elected Kappa social chair, which is a truly tremendous honor if you’re a blonde pick me. However, after she has an uncomfy conversation with a transphobic Kappa alumnae, she realizes that this organization just does not align with her values at all. Leighton decides to quit Kappa and convinces her mother to donate $30,000 (casual) to the women’s center instead of the sorority. When Leighton tells Alicia all this news, Alicia gives her a kiss to thank her… and that turns into them getting back together, of course. (Ahead of the finale, Leighton already dumped Tatum, the popular bitch who made fun of the women’s center people.)

Is Bela Leaving Essex?

Sigh. It does appear that way, but TBD. At the beginning of the finale episode, Bela’s super excited about an article highlighting her new women’s-only magazine, The Foxy. Buttt, she made sure that article was basically just a Bela profile, so the other members of The Foxy were not too thrilled. As if that wasn’t messy enough, Bela gets canceled online after an aspiring student writer asks her for feedback and her advice is: Quit ’cause you suck. Mind you, this all happened after she cheated on Eric, her boyfriend, with a visiting late-night comedian… just so she could possibly score an internship. And apparently, her GPA is now 1.8. Given these brutal circumstances, it’s not shocking that Bela requests to transfer at the end of the episode. Kind of terrified to see what’s next for her.
