Miranda Cosgrove is really making a lifelong career out of iCarly, as she should! It’s official: We’re getting an iCarly movie soon.

The iconic Nickelodeon series originally aired from 2007 to 2012, and the story about a teen influencer (web show host) was really ahead of its time. Little did they know back then that influencers were gonna be the new celebs, tastemakers, journalists, etc.

The show returned during the 2020s reboot boom (we got the High School Musical TV show around the same time) and aired for three seasons on Paramount+ before it was canceled in 2023.

In new interviews with Drew Barrymore and The Hollywood Reporter, Miranda Cosgrove confirmed the feature film and shared a few exciting details about it. Here’s everything to know about the iCarly movie, including the release date, cast, and plot.

iCarly Movie: Release Date, Cast, Plot

When Is The iCarly Movie Coming Out?

During her recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Miranda revealed, “We’re going to film a movie early next year. I’m so excited.” She’s set to star in and executive produce the film.

No release date has been announced yet, but hopefully this filming schedule means we’ll get the movie in late 2026 or early 2027!

iCarly Movie Plot Details

Miranda also shared some plot details during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. According to the actress, the film will pick up where the reboot left off. (To refresh your memory, Carly and Freddie had just gotten engaged when they were interrupted by Carly’s mother, a mysterious figure in the series.) The movie will continue that storyline and focus on Carly’s mother returning. At last, we’ll get an actual ending.

While speaking to the outlet, the actress reflected on revisiting the character and story as an adult. She shared that the reboot was “really cool, but definitely kind of strange and crazy.” Miranda added, “It was really fun getting to play that character again as an adult in a new environment and getting to actually have a say in what the character does.”

A cast list hasn’t been announced yet, but we do know that Miranda Cosgrove will be back as Carly (my queen) and Nathan Kress will return to play her now-fiancé, Freddie. I’m guessing we can also expect Jerry Trainor (Spencer) to come back along with a few other reboot series regulars.

Who will play Carly’s mom? That’s still TBD. “I think the biggest challenge now is gonna be casting the character that’s gonna be the mom because that’s a character I don’t think any of us ever really thought we were gonna meet within that universe,” Miranda told THR. “We just really want to make sure we get it right.”

I need this movie, ASAP!
