On November 20, Liam Payne’s family, bandmates, and friends gathered to mourn the One Direction singer at his funeral. Liam tragically passed away on October 16 after falling from a third-floor balcony at Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 31.

The funeral was held at a church in Amersham, England, a town close to the late singer’s hometown of Wolverhampton. Liam’s parents, Geoff and Karen Payne, were in attendance as well as all his One Direction bandmates, and his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy. Although the funeral was a private event, some fans gathered nearby and there was an area outside for media.

Liam’s coffin was brought to the church via a white horse-drawn hearse with floral tributes that spelled out his family roles, “son” and “daddy.” The One Direction star was a father to his and Cheryl’s 7-year-old son, Bear. There was also a bowling pins and ball floral tribute to honor Liam’s love of bowling.

All of Liam’s One Direction bandmates paid their respects at the funeral and looked devastated. Louis can be seen holding a program with Liam’s face on it that reads, “In Loving Memory of Liam James Payne.” Niall brought along his girlfriend of four years, Amelia Woolley, for emotional support.

In a statement following Liam’s death, the One Direction members shared, “We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends and the fans who loved him alongside us.” They added, “We will miss him terribly.”

Cheryl, Liam’s ex-girlfriend and the mother of his son, was also in attendance. Her Girls Aloud bandmates, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts, were there to support her as well.
