Swifties, Remain Calm: Taylor Swift Might Be Teasing Her Last Two Rerecords

There's suspicious Spotify activity going on...

Attempting to predict the release of Reputation (TV) and Taylor Swift (TV) is a fool’s errand, period. I really don’t know how none of us have learned that lesson yet… but here we are again. For the trillionth time, Swifties are getting out their clown makeup and clinging to crumbs of “evidence” (a very generous term here) that could suggest the last two rerecords are almost upon us. After all, it’s been a year and three months since the living legend released the last rerecord, which was 1989 (TV). The people — type A, mentally ill eldest daughters, that is — are chomping at the bit for more reimagined old material from Taylor. Her power.

On January 24, Swifties woke up to the shocking development that Reputation and Taylor Swift are both hidden on Taylor’s Spotify page. However, the albums are still searchable. So, WTF does this mean? Are Reputation (TV) and Taylor Swift (TV) coming out soon? Let’s discuss the new developments and theories.

Reputation And Taylor Swift Are Hidden On Taylor Swift’s Spotify: Theories

When Are Reputation (Taylor’s Version) And Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version) Coming Out?

As one fan on Twitter put it: “DIVA DOWN I REPEAT DIVA DOWN.” They were referring to Reputation, but there are of course two divas down (if debut can be considered a diva). Obviously, this might just be a glitch, and that would be the most not-unhinged explanation. But it would be an odd glitch, since those are the only two albums Taylor still plans to rerecord. Plus, we all know how obsessed she is with easter eggs and mastermind-ing, so this cryptic hint would be an on-brand move.

It’s notable that the Grammys are coming up in like a week, and girlie lives for a dramatic announcement at the Grammys. You may recall that she announced The Tortured Poets Department when she was accepting an award at the 2024 Grammys. Perhaps she’s gearing up to announce the Reputation (TV) and Taylor Swift (TV) release dates at the 2025 Grammys?

Whether or not this Spotify situation is a real hint, I do honestly think we can expect the last rerecords this year. Think about it: Taylor’s released two rerecorded albums every other year since 2021. We got Fearless (TV) and Red (TV) in 2021 and Speak Now (TV) and 1989 (TV) in 2023, so it would only make sense to get the final two this year.

Not to mention, there’s been a theory for a while that she’ll release Reputation (TV) in 2025 because 2025 is the Year of the Snake in the Chinese Zodiac. And as we all know, the Reputation era = lots of snakes. I personally think she’ll just release her rerecorded debut album at the same time as Reputation (TV) because she doesn’t GAF about it. (Debut didn’t get any Grammys or even its own set on the Eras Tour.) But hey, you never know.

For now, happy clowning, folks.
