Apparently, seasons 1 and 2 of The White Lotus were just warm-ups for a completely unhinged season 3. At the Thailand location, we have middle-aged white lady nemeses cosplaying as friends, a whacky age gap relationship, supervillain Greg appearing yet again, and, um, siblings who clearly wanna fuck. I’m of course referencing the Ratliff siblings: Saxon, Lochlan, and Piper. What a crew! If you picked up on incest vibes between these three in the first episode, you’re definitely not alone. I feel like Piper and Saxon are both into Lochlan, and he’s pretty open to both of them. Is there a sibling threesome in our future? I’m scared. Is There Saxon And Lochlan Incest In The White Lotus?

Right off the bat, you can tell there’s something ~funky~ going on with these Ratliff kiddos. When they realize two of them will have to share a room, Saxon immediately offers to share with Lochlan, and Piper chimes in, “He can sleep with me — I don’t mind” and smiles at her little brother. Ope! Saxon points out that’d be “weird” because “brothers and sisters don’t sleep together after they have full-grown, ya know, genitals.” The man is suspiciously desperate to share a room with his little bro.

And things get a whole lot weirder when Saxon and Lochlan are alone in their shared room! Saxon starts yapping about Piper, telling Lochlan: “I’m sure you’ve noticed… She’s pretty hot. But I don’t think she’s ever been laid before.” Ya know, a totally normal thing to notice/say about your little sister. He claims she’s drawn to Buddhism because “Buddhism is for people who wanna suppress in life.” (Pro tip @Saxon: Incesty desires are definitely something you should keep suppressed.)

Saxon then abruptly asks Lochlan what kind of porn he likes and wonders how he’s gonna “jerk off all week” with his brother in the room. He walks to the bathroom naked, leaves the door wide open for a few seconds, notices Lochlan staring at him, makes eye contact, and then shuts the door. Not disturbing at all…

The developing incest storyline—shocking and uncomfy as it is—does fit into show creator Mike White’s religion theme this season. Incest obviously comes up in the Bible, it’s banned in Judaism, and it’s condemned in Buddhist literature. And as we know, guests at the White Lotus tend to be of the sinner variety.

In an interview with RadioTimes.com, Patrick Schwarzenegger explained that the cast worked hard on trying to “create that dynamic: the closeness, but the oddness, the weirdness.” He claims Saxon’s relationship with Lochlan is “very odd and weird” but “very loving” at the same time. Hmmm.
