The White Lotus season 3 is coming to an end this weekend, which means I need to find a new personality fast. Who am I without my constant impressions of Parker Posey saying, “Piper NYOO! TsunAWmi! BEWdismmm!” What am I to do sans all the memes featuring Rick’s priceless reaction to Frank’s monologue? It’s gonna be brutal readjusting to life without new White Lotus episodes every week. Fortunately, the Max series was renewed for a fourth season back in January, and yes, I’m already obsessing over that. What’s the new location? When’s the release date? When Is The White Lotus Season 4 Coming Out?

There’s no release date info yet (duh), but I fear we got season 3 more than two years after we got season 2. However, the long wait was partially due to the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes delaying production, so maybe it won’t be as bad this time? I’m crossing my fingers for 2026, but 2027 is definitely a possibility.

Where Is The White Lotus Season 4 Set?

Since HBO and Four Seasons announced a partnership before season 3, it seems likely that the next season will also be filmed at a Four Seasons hotel. In February, a source gave Parade some insider info about a possible location. “It’s looking like the next season of The White Lotus will be shot in Egypt or Mexico,” they dished. “They want to pick somewhere they haven’t shot yet, so a new continent … The decision should be made soon.” The source also noted that the Four Seasons partnership will continue.

Show creator Mike White has also expressed interest in heading to Australia, and the internet is obsessed with that idea. There’s already fan casting that involves Nicole Kidman and Troye Sivan, of course. TBH, I really do need that.

Apparently, Mike really dislikes the cold, so he’s not gonna venture to any chilly locations. During a February 2025 appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, producer David Bernad revealed, “I feel confident we’ll never do a season in the cold. Mike is not built for…he’s a California guy, he’s not built for the cold. Never say never, but I would be surprised.”

No news about The White Lotus season 4 cast just yet! That being said, Greg’s been in all of the seasons so far, so maybe that will continue, assuming he’s still alive at the end of season 3. There’s also usually another character (think Tanya and Belinda) who was in one previous season. So, there will probably be one or two familiar faces, but mostly an all-new crew.

The White Lotus Season 4 Plot

While we don’t have any specific season 4 plot details yet, it will surely follow the typical White Lotus formula! The first three seasons were centered around themes: greed, lust, and religion, so I’m guessing we can expect a new interesting theme. And every season, we see a body getting discovered right at the beginning and then go back in time to meet a bunch of eccentric hotel guests and employees, watch how their journeys unfold, and find out who’s dead and who’s the murderer in the finale episode.
