Vivienne Jolie-Pitt is just a teenager, but at this point, she seems the most likely of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s kids to go into show business. In addition to her acting credits, she’s already started learning at the feet of her famous mother.

Born one minute after her twin brother, Knox Léon, Vivienne Marcheline arrived on July 12, 2008, making her the youngest of Angelina and Brad’s six kids.

Although the A-list couple has famously kept their children out of the spotlight, Viv landed her first acting role in 2014’s Maleficent, which her mother starred in as the title character. Vivienne was just a toddler at the time and portrayed the younger version of Elle Fanning’s Aurora. She landed the role mostly by happenstance because the other young actors were too scared to go near Angelina when she was in costume.

“We think it’s fun for our kids to have cameos and join us on set, but not to be actors. That’s not our goal, for Brad and I, at all,” Angelina told Entertainment Weekly at the time. “But the other 3- and 4-year-old [performers] wouldn’t come near me. It had to be a child that liked me and wasn’t afraid of my horns and my eyes and my claws. So it had to be Viv.”

Vivienne took to her role so quickly that Angelina jokingly called the experience “frightening,” as it may have given her a glimpse into her daughter’s future.

“When we did it together, we had a good time. I was actually shocked that she was doing so well she went back and hit her mark!” Angelina said.

While the family travels extensively, Angelina and her kids have made Los Angeles their home base.

Vivienne and Knox were born in Nice, France, which is a pretty fabulous place to start out life. While most people with newborns are walking zombies, Brad, Angelina, and their newly minted family of eight spent time at their Château Miraval in Provence, France, following the birth of the twins.

Vivienne was named after Angelina’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died from cancer a little over a year before Vivienne was born. The teen is already living up to her name in honor of her famous grandmother.

“Viv reminds me of my mother in that she isn’t focused on being the center of attention but in being a support to other creatives,” Angelina told People. “She’s very thoughtful and serious about theater and working hard to best understand how to contribute.”

Will Vivienne Jolie-Pitt Go to College?

Considering she’s still in the thick of high school, it’s unclear if and where Vivienne would attend college. Not all of Brad and Angelina’s children have decided to go that route. Their firstborn, Maddox, attends Yonsei University in South Korea, while their oldest daughter, Zahara, goes to Spelman College in Atlanta. Their son Pax opted not to attend college and resides in Los Angeles, and it has not been revealed if their daughter Shiloh, who graduated high school in 2024, will go on to pursue higher education.

Vivienne and Knox will have their choice about what young adulthood looks like for them, but it seems as though Viv is destined to pursue a future in entertainment.

A job at 15 might include scooping ice cream or working at the mall, but Vivienne already has Broadway experience under her belt.

Angelina began producing a Broadway adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s novel and Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film The Outsiders in 2023. Not only did Vivienne orchestrate her mom’s involvement in the project, she also served as a volunteer assistant.

“She saw an early workshop a few times and then invited me to it,” Angelina told People about her youngest daughter during the April 2024 opening night. “Viv is a young artist who focuses her efforts on her support of others … She has been there to assist in any way she can and has learned so much from [score and co-book writer] Justin Levine and the whole creative team.”
