Apparently, lots of people online are doubting that the 11-minute all-female Blue Origin celeb space trip actually happened. Some conspiracy theorists are convinced that the crew never left the Earth and the whole thing was some kind of high-production Hollywood hoax. (Then explain to me how Katy Perry just magically became “connected to that strong divine feminine”!) What would be the purpose of such a random, elaborate spectacle, you ask? No idea. But hey, I gotta admire some of the creativity I’m seeing on X right now. So, is there any chance that the girlboss celeb space trip fake, and there was no giant leap forward for womankind after all? Let’s break down some of these wild Blue Origin space trip conspiracy theories.

Was The Celeb Space Trip Fake? Conspiracy Theories

Conspiracy Theories About The All-Female Blue Origin Space Trip

Dr. Daniel Jolley, an expert on the psychology of conspiracies, explained to MailOnline that the Blue Origin space trip was inevitably gonna lead to some kooky internet theories. “This mission brings together two domains that have long been fertile ground for conspiracy theories: space exploration and celebrity culture,” he told the outlet. And Dr. Jolley is correct, it seems: A day after the ~mission~, people on X and Instagram have already claimed that the space trip was merely shitty CGI, that it all took place in a film studio, and that Jeff Bezos opening the hatch when the capsule landed was just for show. (According to Daily Mail, footage from a few minutes earlier shows the capsule door being opened from the inside before being swiftly shut.)

“It was fake,” one commenter wrote. “The girls opened the door to begin with from the inside with no tools. They then waited a few minutes, and Jeff Bezos stepped up with some sort of tool and acted like he unlocked the latch.”

Despite all these theories, I think it’s safe to say the celeb space trip was real. I mean… The whole thing was broadcast. We saw the girlies getting into the capsule, taking off, and landing. Plus, there’s footage of them floating around inside the capsule while in space. And there’s no reason why something like this would be faked! LOL. But I’ll admit, I do find the conspiracy theories entertaining.
