Yes, I admit it: I obviously was just watching the Emmys red carpet tonight to see the White Lotus season 2 cast. Those girlies are my Roman Empire and I am so, so fucking happy they all showed up. GIVE IT TO ME, LADIES. And you too, Leo.

For some, it might be a shock to see this iconic cast even at the Emmy Awards this year. However, let me remind you that the 75th annual Primetime Emmy Awards were delayed (TBT to when they were supposed to be in September) due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which is why we’re watching it tonight instead. The nominations for the show were actually announced on July 12, 2023, just one day before the strike was official.
The White Lotus has a total of 23 nominations with mosttt of the cast being up for an award! F. Murray Abraham, Michael Imperioli, Theo James, and Will Sharpe all received nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, while Jennifer Coolidge, Meghann Fahy, Sabrina Impacciatore, Aubrey Plaza, and Simona Tabasco all received noms for And for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
If you’re missing this show as much as I am, then you’ll be thrilled to know that a season 3 is already in the works! The new season will premiere in 2025 (I FUCKING KNOW, IT’S SO FAR AWAY) but at least we have a few details to keep us on our toes. Production is apparently slated to start early February 2024 in Thailand, according to Deadline. The third season will focus on will focus on “death and Eastern religion and spirituality” according to director Mike White. Lol sweet. A few cast members have already been announced including Natasha Rothwell, Carrie Coon, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Tayme Thapthimthong, Michelle Monaghan, Dom Hetrakul, Leslie Bibb, Shalini Peiris, Miloš Biković, Christian Friedel, Morgana O’Reilly, and Lek Patravadi.
