Although I’m personally still recovering from the chaos of the 2024 VMAs, we’ve already arrived at the 2024 Emmys — the second Emmys of this year, I might add. Yes, it was only eight months ago that we watched the last Emmys, which you might recall was literally just The Bear winning every single comedy award, Succession winning every single drama award, and everyone else pretending to be happy for them. That was stan behavior from the voters, honestly. I hope it’s a tad less predictable this time around.

This Emmys is definitely gonna be memorable, because we’re being treated to the best father-son host duo ever, Dan and Eugene Levy of Schitt’s Creek. These bespectacled, witty kings were born to host. In fact, I wouldn’t be mad if they just hosted every year. Who do I talk to about this?

Obviously, the cast of The Bear is returning this year, and I’m rooting for my Only Murders queen, Selena Gomez, and her boomer pals, Steve Martin and Martin Short. Plus, we can look forward to seeing Abbott Elementary icon Quinta Brunson and Palm Royale star Kristen Wiig. I’m not even gonna lie to you — I haven’t seen any of the shows in the drama category besides The Morning Show, but love you, Jen Aniston.

The Emmys voters are already judging the celebs’ acting skills this evening, which means it’s up to us to judge their fashion choices. QUINTA WINS! Competition over. I’ve been possessed by this ridiculously fabulous dress. She said, “I’m from Abbott Elementary and I’m gonna teach you all a thing or two about fashion.” Begging her to put this mermaid Georges Chakra couture gown in a museum so I can go see it and maybe steal it.

Oh, I’m devastated. I was so ready to give you a Best, Dan, but I simply can’t endorse this incredibly awkward piece of shirt sticking up situation. Maybe he’s having allergies? It kinda looks like a built-in tissue.

What a beautiful, gorgeous, stunning day to be a lifelong Selenator. I MEAN. This sophisticated black gown with a silvery halter top is everything. And she’s serving some Rare Beauty soft glam, naturally!
