Three extremely long years after Wednesday season 1 premiered, the first episodes of season 2 have finally dropped on Netflix. This season, Wednesday’s headed back to Nevermore Academy to unravel more dark mysteries and battle sinister new threats, as she does. Fan-favorite icons are back in action, including the queen herself, Wednesday’s eccentric fam, her loyal sidekick, Thing, and her quirky roommate, Enid. There’s also a stacked lineup of new cast members, including Steve Buscemi and Lady Fucking Gaga (still unwell over that announcement). But there’s one major season 1 character who’s very noticeably missing in the first four season 2 episodes: Xavier, one of Wednesday’s love interests. And no, he will not appear in the second half of the season, which drops on September 3. So, why is Xavier not in season 2 of Wednesday? Did actor Percy Hynes White leave the show, or was he fired? Here’s what we know about Xavier’s absence.

Why Is Xavier Not In Season 2 Of Wednesday?

In January 2023, since-deleted anonymous social media posts accused the Wednesday actor of sexual assault. He shared a statement in June, denying the allegations. “Somebody I’ve never met started a campaign of misinformation against me online,” White wrote on his Instagram Stories. “Because of this, my family has been doxxed, and my friends have received death threats.”

He added, “The rumors are false. I can’t accept the portrayal of me as someone bigoted or criminally negligent of people’s safety. These are the kind of baseless, harmful claims that can create mistrust toward victims.”

Although there were rumors that Xavier was written off because of the allegations against White, sources told Deadline that the actor was given the opportunity to return for season 2. “I had so much fun working on this show,” White wrote in a May Instagram Story. ” I can’t wait to watch season 2 🙂 Much love.”

How Wednesday Explains Xavier’s Absence

At the beginning of season 2, the new principal, Barry Dort, reveals that Xavier’s switched schools and is “heading to Reichenbach Academy in Switzerland.” His father, Vincent Thorpe, made the call — he was pissed that his son was mistaken as the killer Hyde and falsely accused of murder. (Tyler, the actual killer Hyde, was Wednesday’s other BF, LOL.)

Although Xavier doesn’t appear in Wednesday season 2 at all, he does leave Wednesday a goodbye letter with a creepy picture of a one-eyed crow. Wednesday’s roommate, Enid, reads the letter aloud to her in their dorm room. “I tried texting, but I guess you lost the phone I gave you,” Xavier wrote. “Consider this my goodbye gift. The image suddenly flashed in my head. Don’t ask me how I know or what it means, but it’s connected to you, I’m sure. Who’s Wednesday Addams without a mystery to solve, right?”

RIP to Wednesday’s love triangle situation.
