TikTok Swears This Yogurt Is Making Them “Hotter” — But Is It Worth The Price Tag?

For that price it better do my taxes, too.

I’m not saying you should listen to everything you see on TikTok. In fact, a good rule of thumb is to let at least 50% of health advice from strangers go in one ear and out of the other. However, I couldn’t help but be a little curious about this v pricey but apparently magic coconut cult yogurt that has the girlies in a chokehold online. Fair warning before I dive in: this is not yogurt you snack on like the latest Chobani flavor. Coconut Cult yogurt is described as a “super-live probiotic coconut yogurt” that is fermented to “keep you super regular,” according to their website. But WTF does that really mean, and how does it work?! Here’s the full scoop on what Coconut Cult yogurt is and if consumers think it really works. Gut health gurus, step to the front.

What is Coconut Cult Yogurt?

Coconut Cult is a fermented yogurt, also sometimes described as a mousse, that is meant to act as a prebiotic to improve your gut health. This means if you have trouble with bloating, upset tummy, IBS, or going number two, Coconut Cult (like all prebiotics) claims to help level out bacteria in your gut to improve your digestion from the inside out. They offer this by growing 16 different sciency-sounding bacteria species in their yogurt.

What is the proper serving of Coconut Cult Yogurt?

Because of the potent product’s powerful nature, you don’t snack on Coconut Cult but are advised to take about two tablespoons a day. According to the founders, you should never double dip into the same jar, and some superfans advise avoiding using a metal spoon in the jar to respect the balance, though the owners haven’t confirmed that as necessary.

How much does Coconut Cult cost?

On Coconut Cult’s website, there’s a two jar minimum, which rings up to a recession-risky $70 bundle. That gives ya about 36 servings (AKA one month) of your probiotic fix. However, you can find severely discounted prices for 16oz or 8oz jars from other retailers like grocery stores or Instacart (for as little as $10).

What does Coconut Cult taste like?

While the TikTok reviews are a bit mixed, most people admit it takes a hot minute to adjust to what the Cult describes as the “tangy flavor” of the “mousse-like texture.” One of my most trusted creators, Clara Piece, jokingly referred to the yogurt as “radioactive” and “spicy.”

That being said, the stans have big opinions on which flavors are the best. The Harvest Strawberry flavor seems to be the overwhelming fan favorite. The brownie batter option is said to be super chocolatey, which many fans loved, while the Orange Dreamsicle and Banana Cream Pie are warned to be the most “tangy” and “runny” of the bunch, so probs not the best for probiotic newbies. The newest flavor, Wild Passionfruit, was rated an 11/10 by daily user Tatyana for yumminess and texture, so that seems like a great place to start for those interested.

What does Coconut Cult yogurt do?

Coconut Cult boasts that their product can promote regularity in the bathroom, meaning “more number twos,” healthy skin, healthy weight, better digestion, boosted immunity, and even a better mood?! At the same time, they claim their yogurt can decrease bloating, inflammation, and feeling so hungry all the time.

Does Coconut Cult yogurt actually?

Yes and no, depending on who you ask and when you ask them. One TikToker claimed that within a week, the special snack reduced her bloating and flattened her stomach “so much,” but they were still waiting for an improvement in clear skin.

Another TikToker’s “brutally honest review” prefaced her audience with the fact that since she’s a woman with IBS, deep into her gut health journey, she wasn’t instantly impressed. But after three weeks, she stated she noticed way less gas, like no other product had done before. Bathroom health was another huge plus.

But that doesn’t mean everyone is a fan, which is pretty natural for a subjective health product! According to her video, TikTok Bria Scott hopped off the coconut train because the initial breakouts on her skin after trying it out for three weeks were allegedly too much to hold out for the benefits.
