Why Go Outside? Cozy Crafts To Try At Your Next Girls Night In

Crafting is peak girlhood.

It’s getting chilly outside and while I am a self-proclaimed street rat, I’m ready for nights out with the girls to turn into nights in (aka protected by the warmth of the indoors). And even though I’d be happy doing just about anything with my best girlfriends (assuming wine is involved), I do love when we get together to do some sort of activity — you know, something cutesy like crafting.

If you’ve been on TikTok lately, you’d known that crafts are all-the-rage. I don’t know if it’s because we’re all collectively poor or just losing our minds (or both). Now, I am far from an artistic person, but getting together with the girls to at least attempt to make something cute? That is a good time. Nothing makes you feel peak girlhood than gathering with your girls, drinking some cheap wine, and making some art that a second grader would be pretty proud of. You just have to figure out what kind of crafts you want to dabble in.

So, if you need a little inspo for your next craft night with the girls, look no further. Here are a few easy crafts to try for your next girl’s night to get your artistic skills flowing.

Pottery

Okay, I know you think you need to go take a pottery class to do this, but you really don’t — you can do pottery from the comfort of your own home. Sure, it may not end up being the prettiest thing in the world, but it’s the journey that counts. JK, it’ll just make for another thing for you and your friends to laugh at together.

All you need is:

  • Air dry clay
  • Water
  • Acrylic paint

Friendship Bracelets

At what age did we all just stop making friendship bracelets for each other? (If you go to raves, you probably still do this.) Well, I say we start again.

All you need is:

  • Cotton thread in your fave color
  • Variety of cute beads
  • Scissors

Wine/Shot Glasses

As you drink your wine, you can also decorate some wine glasses. Of course, I recommend that you don’t work on the wine glass you’re drinking out of (unless you’re feeling particularly adventurous of course).

All you need is:

  • Some cheap wine glasses (and wine, preferably)
  • Dishwasher-safe paint
  • Brushes for everyone

Vision Boards

I’m big on manifesting, and one of the best ways to do that is to create a vision board for the things you want. Your dream car? The house you’ve always wanted? Dev Patel? Throw it all onto your vision board.

All you need is:

  • Old magazines
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Poster board

Junk Journaling

Who says the crafts you make have to have a purpose? You can also clip out a bunch of things from magazines and just make a poster board make really cute and artsy — or keep all of your keepsakes in a junk journal. Channel in your inner 2010 Tumblr girl and go at it.

All you need is:

  • Memorabilia (Movie stubs, concert tickets, polaroid photos, etc.)
  • Stickers, ribbon, or really any decorative material
  • A notebook or a poster board
  • Glue
