It started with a little help from the modern-day Cupid: a blind date. But not just any blind date — this one was orchestrated by Kamala’s dear friend, Chrisette Hudlin, who knew Doug through work. Chrisette, being the ultimate wingwoman, saw the potential for some serious sparks and decided to play matchmaker.

Now, we all know blind dates can be hit or miss, but this one? Total hit. Doug texted Kamala right after getting her number from Chrisette. His first message? A casual yet charming, “Hi.
