If you’re chronically online, or queer, or both, you might’ve run into the best thing to happen on the internet this weekend (besides the Timothée Chalamet contest, of course). Yes, I’m talking about the “I hate gay Halloween” memes. From the “Olympic pole vaulter that bumped the pole with his bulge,” to “Chappell Roan in the crowd at Gov Ball,” these costumes highlighted the niche internet obsessions that have taken over the group chat in 2024. As a bisexual who enjoys trash television my favorites include, “Whitney from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives when her son had RSV” and the infamous “bisexual couch from Ikea’s 2021 Pride Collection.” It’s called range!!

Like writer Gabe Bergado tweeted, “In gay world, Halloween is the one night a year when a gay can dress like a total slut (the Four Seasons Orlando baby’s dad).” I mean, can we expect anything less for Gay Christmas?

Here’s a roundup of the funniest “I hate gay Halloween” costumes posted across X (yes, I’ve finally folded) and TikTok.
