When you find a good groove with a partner in bed, I can understand why you wouldn’t want to switch it up. If you’re having great sex, connecting with your partner, and reaching orgasm, why change anything? Well, as your fairy sex godmother, I’m here to tell you that experimenting in bed is healthy and can improve your experience between the sheets. So, that really great sex that you’ve been having? We can make it even better.

I get it. Trying a new position can be intimidating. I always throw a few go-to positions into the mix because a) I know they’ll feel good, and b) I know I’ll look good in them. Part of the reason some sex moves might be scary to try (aside from worrying about whether you’re flexible enough or have enough stamina) is that people are just afraid to look stupid during sex. I’m here to tell you it’s time to let it go!

The reality about sex is that we’re all bound to look stupid sometimes. But it’s all part of the act, baby! There’s body parts and movements and fluids — nothing is ever going to look like it does in porn, and that’s a good thing. It’s actually a really great bonding experience when you can giggle over trying a new position. But you know when the giggles immediately stop? When you realize how fucking good it feels. Here are some sex positions most people are afraid of doing, so you can add them to your bucket list. We’re conquering our fears today, okay?

Full Nelson

I can understand why a sex position with the same name as a wrestling move can be scary, but stay with me here. If you’re into being held, this one might be for you. One of you should lay back and bend your knees so that your feet are close to your butt. Then, whoever is on top should lie right on them, facing away. Then, the person underneath should use their arms to help the person on top bend their legs and bring them close to their face, all while connecting at the base of their neck. Sound complicated? It is. But you’re in for a crazy ride.

V Formation

Come on, ladies, let’s get in V Formation. This one’s a little less complicated but a lot more athletic. Have your partner sit back on a couch with their legs hanging off and their butt scooted up toward the edge of the seat. Then, get in between their legs and place your legs on their shoulders. After that, you’ll prop yourself up on your arms as you hold their feet, and they’ll lift your feet slightly above their shoulders. Voila!

Wheelbarrow

Remember how you used to play wheelbarrow as a kid? Yes? So, you get the concept. Except instead of having your partner hold you by the legs, they’re going to hold you by the hips and thrust into you.

Froggy Style

You’ve heard of doggy style, but it’s time to elevate it to froggy style. Have your partner put their back on the floor with their legs up on a couch or chair. Then, you’re going to climb on top of them so that you’re face-to-face and wrap your legs around their torso. You both might get a head rush, but it’s definitely worth it.

Apex

Ever want to be fucked in the air but think you need a little help? Take a stool or tall chair and grab onto the sides. Then, have your partner get behind you and pick your legs up so they can wrap around your body. Then, go at it. Remember to use a chair or stool to keep you stable.
