Feeling Unadulterated Loathing For The Golden Globes Voters RN: The Biggest Snubs

I'm personally offended for my faves.

The 2025 Golden Globes nominations are here and I officially need to rant, because WTF. Did the Golden Globes voters watch the same versions of these movies and TV shows that I did?? Do I need to figure out how to join this voting body so I can give them a few pointers? Some of the most impactful direction and performances of the year were totally disregarded… it’s unacceptable. Fortunately, there were some exciting wins: The loml, Selena Gomez, was nominated for her work in Emilia Pérez (despite Eugenio Derbez publicly dragging her performance) and the queens of Oz, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, were recognized for Wicked, thank god. But too many of my fave talented artistes were left out this year: Here are the most heinous Golden Globes 2025 snubs, according to me, a woman with taste.

Golden Globes 2025 Nominations: Snubs

Mike Faist And Josh O’Connor (Challengers)

Did the Golden Globes voters… not see Challengers? I’m confused. Mike and Josh were the talk of the town (Twitter and TikTok) for months after the movie premiered, and I, for one, never knew so much sexual tension could be infused into a churro.

Lady Gaga (Joker: Folie à Deux

)

If you ask me, Lady Gaga can do no wrong and she ate up the role of Harley Quinn as expected. However, this wasn’t the most shocking snub considering the reviews of the film were brutal and the box office was not pretty.

Jon Chu (Wicked)

Frankly, this is blasphemy. I have no words. You’re telling me the Golden Globes voters sat through those magical 15 hours of the Wicked movie and didn’t sob and leave the movie theater changed for good? This is a crime and they know it. A shameful, shameful snub that I shan’t ever forgive. Jon, you’re my best director of the year.

Jonathan Bailey (Wicked)

Charm for days, dancing like a pro, an actual FLIP, the voice of an angel, making people of all genders fall in love with him… this king left it all on the Ozian table and I’m personally offended that he didn’t get recognized.

Saoirse Ronan (The Outrun & Blitz)

The Golden Globes voters did not bow down to my Irish queen this year — instead, they chose to ignore both of the acting goddess’ performances in her critically acclaimed 2024 films, The Outrun and Blitz. What an insane and offensive choice on their part.

Meryl Streep (Only Murders In The Building)

You’re gonna disrespect MERYL STREEP like that?? The 75-year-old icon did not get recognized for her supporting role in the beloved comedy series, and that is seriously some bullshit.

Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool & Wolverine)

*whispers* Yay! I really don’t like this man. Not one bit. And the Deadpool & Wolverine x It Ends With Us promo made me uncomfy…
