Yes, You Definitely Recognize Dana Evans On ‘The Pitt’ From Something

Her IMDB page is loooooooong.

On The Pitt, Dana Evans is one of those people who’s just always around. She’s the charge nurse of the emergency room at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, so she’s, well, in charge. She keeps things running with the cool, calm, and collected energy of the most responsible eldest daughter you’ve ever met. Well, she’s cool and calm at least until (spoiler alert!) a patient punched her in The Pitt episode 9. But like any good eldest daughter, she stuck it out for the rest of her shift, making sure to be there for the rest of the team. So yeah, Dana Evans is just always around. And so is the actress who plays her, Katherine LaNasa.

Katherine LaNasa’s IMDB page lists 80 credits, which is a lot for any one person. So just like Dana is always around The Pitt‘s ER, Katherine is one of those people who seems to always show up on our screens. Even Noah Wyle, Katherine’s co-star on The Pitt (and a producer of the show) sings her praises. He told The Ringer that she’s “one of the easiest, most accomplished actors I’ve worked with.” From classic sitcoms to soapy dramas, to even a few other famous medical shows, Katherine has appeared in a lot. Here’s where you might know The Pitt‘s Katherine LaNasa from.

This is not Katherine LaNasa’s first time working in a hospital… or, at least a fake hospital made for TV. Before becoming Nurse Dana Evans on The Pitt, Katherine appeared on the classic medical drama ER, which also starred Noah Wyle and was produced by The Pitt creator John Wells — it all comes full circle. Katherine’s role on ER was much smaller than Dana Evans, though. She appeared in just one season 3 episode of ER. Later, Katherine was a patient in a season 2 episode of Grey’s Anatomy.

Katherine has also done comedy with roles on classic shows like Seinfeld, Two and a Half Men, and Third Rock From the Sun. She was a lead on the short-lived sitcom Three Sisters and on the even more short-lived drama Deception. You might recognize her from a recurring role Big Love, or from playing Will Ferrell’s wife in the movie The Campaign. But I’m gonna be very vulnerable here and let you know the number one role I recognize Katherine LaNasa from: Katherine played Gloria Grandbilt on Katy Keene. Yes, Katy Keene, the over-the-top silly Riverdale spinoff that took place in a golden-hued alternate reality where life is one big romantic comedy. Gloria Grandbilt was a very different character from Dana Evans (just see for yourself) but no matter what, it’s nice seeing Katherine LaNasa back on our screens.
